Book Review – Han Solo at Stars’ End by Brian Daley

The great thing about this book is the fact it’s clearly been written by someone who is incredibly familiar with the Star Wars Universe. Brian Daley presents us with a rip-roaring adventure featuring everyone’s favourite Space Bro’s – Han Solo and Chewbacca.

When the pair stop off at a remote planet for some modifications to be made, that may or may not be legal, by their old friend Doc, they find that he has vanished and his daughter Jessa sends the duo out on a mission that will take them on a unexpected journey.

The Authority has been kidnapping anyone who dare cross them and during an unexpected attack, Chewie is taken. Along with a few other people on the hunt for their missing family members they travel to a place of cosmic desolation known as Stars’ End. It is down to Solo and his mismatched crew of a couple of Trianii and an old labour droid with a penchant for storytelling, to discover where the captives are being held, free them and get off the planet in one piece. But as this is Han Solo we’re talking about, things don’t go as smoothly as that.

This is a well-paced, well-written novel with plenty of moments of tense drama and action that will keep you hooked. It was especially great to get more of an insight into the character of Han Solo and discover, albeit briefly, how he and Chewbacca came to be comrades. I’d recommend this to people who want more of a backstory for the characters but with all nerdy stuff we’ve come to know and love from Star Wars.

Next out of the TBR Jar is;

Han Solo at Stars’ End by Brian Daley.

I love the Star Wars films (the original trilogy anyway, I though the rest were an abomination) so I’m really excited to read this. I picked this up a couple of months back from a Pop Up Bookstore – I’ll post a full review when done.

Happy reading fellow bookworms.
